Paul Anka Commemorated in Syrup
Hitchcoc28 March 2023
This is a pretty typical episode. There is a new newspaper in town and they have an entertainment critic. He sets his sights on Dick and Vermont Today. Once isn't enough, however, because he continues to attack day after day. The townspeople, of course, totally buy into it. Dick goes to see the guy. He is older and has some affectations, sort of an Eastern snob thing. When Dick yells at him he starts to cry. Dick feels a bit of compassion, but the next day he's back at it. The second behind-the-scenes plot is Larry and the boys finding a pancake that looks like Paul Anka. Soon people are flocking to the restaurant to see the thing, although something tragic occurs later.

A critic targets Dick
Jimmy_the_Gent47 June 2018
An acid tongued critic in a local newspaper skewers Dick and Vermont Today.

A funny episode with some good laughs. The critic says Dick has all the charisma of peat moss and the show is a cure for insomnia. Dick visits the critic and unleashes a few insults making the man cry, but he refuses to stop writing the scathing reviews. Jim and Chester show up and say they still watch Vermont Today but now it's a guilty pleasure. Larry and the Darryls show up after whipping up a pancake they say looks like Paul Anka. This becomes a huge tourist attraction.
