Phyllis Lindstrom, Frau Brucher, Nurse Diesel...all legendary names associated with the Oscar winning Cloris Leachman, one of the best guest stars in the show's history. She's Maxwell's old nurse, Nanny Mueller, as strict as Fran is lenient. Within minutes, she's offering her unwanted opinions that Fran and the kids don't find amusing but the audience will find hysterical. But she has a past revealed with Niles (confirming his sexual orientation) and it's very funny. A very funny scene in the park features veteran character actress Lu Leonard as one of the three other nanny's Fran commiserates with. It's too bad that Leachman never returned. She's a shining light in any role, and is unforgettable here.
