When Shane Donovan and Steve "Patch" Johnson are reunited, it's quite a soap opera, or in Fran's case, an eye opening experience to which his lecherous actor makes a play for Fran. Steve Nichols plays Brock Storm, a soap opera star determined to make his Broadway debut, basically a ploy to get his contract renewed and some play time with Fran. Nichols isn't much of a singer in his brief rendition of "Oklahoma!", but for fans of "Days", it's a pleasant reunion of costars Charles Shaugnessy and Nichols. This is the first mention of Andrew Lloyd Webber as being a rival of Maxwell's, a recurring gag that would remain a plot point for the remainder of the series. Non "Days" fans though may not get the references, especially when Nichols puts on his famous "patch".
