You have to be a devout fan of this show to love stories like this. Think of how far the series came in nine seasons, and more to come.
A memorable episode, a bit more on the dramatic and poignant side. For one thing, the idea of Chip getting married next was not out of the question.
Angela Cartwright (from LOST IN SPACE) makes a special appearance here, playing Debbie, who may be the newest addition to the family. Their relationship, though, is tested when Katie faints (probably due to exhaustion) and Chip and Debbie find themselves taking care of the triplets --and all the responsibilities of being a substitute mom and dad. What an experience.
I always thought this was a clever episode, written by Aljean Harnitz, who was a historian for the WIZARD OF OZ, books and documentaries.
Also look for Butch Patrick (the MINSTERS) as family friend Gordon.
Special guest star is Margaret Field, Sally Field's famous mother, who appeared in many classic films, and is known for the cult sci fi, THE MAN FROM PLANET X. She plays Debbie's mom, and in a very good role, also one of her final tv appearances before retirement.
