A lover in need is a friend indeed.

Warning: Spoilers
The return of Jerry Gold (the fascinating Jay Thomas) comes at a time when Murphy really could use a friend outside of the FYI office. While everybody else is unhappy to see him, Murphy is delighted, and his reappearance comes at a time when Murphy's physical condition has it necessary for her to take time off. He moves into her house to aid her, and finds her frustrated over not being able to do what she loves doing best, working. Their arguments aren't over serious things, and Murphy begins to get frustrated with herself, sounding like an old house frau, something she resents. There are some really good zingers here at the expense of the staff and Jerry, with Miles getting a particularly classic one when he attempts to tell Jerry off. Jerry may not have been the most likable character on the surface, but it is obvious that his friendship and previous relationship with Murphy humanized him a great deal, and her loyalty to him can't be destroyed by her friends at work who have no reason to change their feelings to him.
