This "Monsters" episode from season 3 Dec. of 1990 called "A New Woman" involves an old rich tycoon who's on his death bed around Christmas and his greedy wife Jessica wants to literally pull the pug so she can get rich soon! Yet nephew David has a heart as the will involves a deal that would tear down a homeless shelter and build an office complex for profit. However this frame of mind changes on Christmas Eve when Jessica is visited by evil and horrible like ghosts! Really a parody like take on Dickens "A Christmas Carol". Overall well done one of the series better late episodes for it's moral and spirit like theme.

Warning: Spoilers
Greedy and selfish Jessie (well played to the chilly hilt by Linda Thorson) plots to acquire buildings that her dying wealthy husband Thomas (a convincing portrayal by Tom McDermott) has reserved for the poor so she can sell them at a substantial profit. However, a strange doctor (a fine performance by always reliable character actor Mason Adams) shows Jessica the error of her ways in a frightening manner.
Director Brian Thomas Jones relates the engrossing story at a steady pace as well as ably crafts a festive yuletide atmosphere. Edithe Swensn's thoughtful script not only has playfully ghoulish fun with the "A Christmas Carol"-like premise, but also delivers a pleasing upbeat message about redemption and second chances. The sickly make-up for Thomas looks appropriate ghastly. Moreover, we also get a funky trio of skeletal ghosts for extra creepy measure. A good show.
