Minder takes on the Greek/Cypriot and Turkish/Cypriot divide.

Terry and Arthur rescue Charlie, a Greek Cypriot as he is attacked on the street. They take him back to his cousin Christina's restaurant. She does not seem please to see them all.

Christina is a widow. Her husband was a Turkish Cypriot and since her husband's death she has been in dispute with her brother in law over the ownership of the restaurant. Terry is hired to mind the restaurant as the brother in law wants Christina to get into trouble with the health inspector for example.

Both Christina and Charlie are being manipulated by a conniving associate. Although Charlie is well meaning and bumbling, he has been coaxed to take revenge for his family's honour.

Diane Keen who plays Christina is a delight to watch, even though she has not always been honest as to what has been going on. You can see that Arthur is taken with her. As for Terry he just wants to be paid by Arthur without having to beg for his wages. There is some nice interplay between Arthur and Terry in this episode. It is unfortunate that none of the Cypriots are played by Greeks or Cypriots or Turks. Even Michael Angelis turns up at one point as a Cypriot waiter.
