THE LIFE AND LEGEND OF Wyatt Earp – "Wyatt Earp Comes to Wichita – 1955
This is episode five of the 1955-1961 western series starring Hugh O'Brian as Wyatt Earp.
Wyatt Earp (Hugh O'Brian) has just arrived in Wichita to take over as the new town Marshal. He barely has time to dismount, when he needs to break up a group of men planning on lynching a jail house prisoner. The group is led by House Peters Jr. Peters is a local businessman who is trying to control the town.
The story follows O'Brian as he tries to prove the prisoner innocent while putting Peters in his place. There is a healthy amount of gun barrels laid to the side of more than a few heads in this episode. O'Brian ends up solving the crime and making several enemies along the way.
Rest of the cast includes Douglas Fowley, Don Haggerty, Collette Lyons and Sam Flint. This episode has that filmed in less than week feel with several scenes seeming rather rushed. This is by no means a great episode, but still a watchable time-waster. (b/w)
