Skip Homeir plays Ches Ryan, a guy who wants to get revenge on the company that fired him. Skip Homeier was usually a villain, and in this episode he starts off by robbing $8,000.00 in payroll from his former employer's office. Then Skip/Ches waits in ambush for Dan Troop and shoots his horse out from under him.

Troop is stuck trailing Homeier on foot. Deputy Johnny McKay comes by, and gives Troop his horse. I expected that Johnny would go back to Laramie and then come back in another horse, but he never returned, even though Troop was gone for about a week.

Meanwhile Skip comes across a girl and her little brother, who are very sick from something like smallpox. The girl begs him for help, and Skip goes to a nearby town that is almost abandoned in order to get sulphur.

Looking up sulphur on google, Sulphur Dioxide (the gas that comes from burning sulphur) was used disinfecting the home by putting a win pot in each room of the house, and filling it with Sulphur. A small amount of alcohol would be mixed with it, and then the Sulphur would be ignited.

In this case, Skip & Troop had the sulphur by the faces of the kids, which would have been deadly. I think they got this treatment mixed up with the common remedy for chest congestion starting in the 1890s, which was that mentholatum ointment would be heated up in water, and the sick person would breathe in the mentholatum mist, and it would help relieve congestion. Mentholatum.

Eventually everyone gets cured, including Troop, who also got sick. There is a funny moment when Skip hides the $8,000.00 he stole. A minute later when Troop arrives, he casually looks up and immediately sees where the money is hidden. This episode was very positive and uplifting. Everyone did the right thing, for the right reasons, and Skip went from heel to hero.
