Some well laid plans
bkoganbing19 March 2021
In this Kojak story Susan Sullivan has a full proof scheme for murdering her rich husband Eric Braeden She's got her lover and hairdresser Dale Robinette in on the plot.

She and Robinette have a love nest under a fictitious name and character that Sullivan has created. But how could she possibly know that that particular building was being staked out by Telly Savalas and his Manhattan South Squad looking to capture a burglary team.

Kojak and his guys get their crooks and in doing so hear a phone call that is part of Sullivan's homicide scheme.

Detective Kojak does some real detecting in this episode. In fact he's looking for someone who doesn't exist. That was part of Sullivan's scheme, but only after the deed had been done. And that fact makes this story one of the best Kojak episodes in the series.

When you hear the beep, drop dead!!

While catching a pair of burglars breaking into an apartment, Kojak and his detectives stumble across an apparent plan by a prositute to kill her boyfriend. Actually Susan Sullivan is masquerading as a prostitute, which is part of the scheme; she is a rich wife who wants her husband, Eric Braeden, dead and she's got a lover to help her to do the ghastly deed. Of course, Kojak is on the case, detecting, and it's a difficult case as the murder hasn't happened. A good episode with fine acting, a good build up and suspenseful finale.

If This Were a Movie...It'd Be My Favorite
amylovestv4 November 2021
If this episode were a movie, it would easily be my favorite. But, since it's not, it'll hold the title of my favorite TV episode of any series. I love everything about this episode, the actors, the writing, the plot. Susan Sullivan is one of my top favorite actresses, and I think this performance of hers clearly shows why. I 100% recommend this episode for any classic TV show fan.
