We Miss You and Love, Judy!
Sylviastel8 July 2011
The Judy Garland Show was a variety show aimed at trying to get Judy back on her feet financially. Every episode including featured star guests like June Allyson who she introduces as her friend and Steve Lawrence. Dick Van Dyke's younger brother, Jerry, is a member of the cast along with male and female dancers. The show allowed us to love Judy Garland more than when we saw her in film and television. Her relationship and friendship with June Allyson appeared quite genuine and real. Granted, the show had some minor faults but it was really worth watching if you can catch it on DVD like I did or on PBS stations. Judy Garland was a legend and rightfully so. She sang from the heart. There are times in the show where something doesn't seem right with her and we know that she was battling her demons too. But if this show had lasted a few more years, maybe we wouldn't have lost her so early.
