Wacky load of laughs. Jack's due to play Mendelsohn's Violin Concerto solo at Carnegie Hall. Needless to say, his nerves are packed tight. It doesn't help when the 19th-century composer himself turns up in a puff of smoke in Jack's dressing room. Good thing he's only doing a cigarette commercial !! Worse is when George Burns turns up in another smoke puff—as the Devil !, even sporting horns. So what's Jack to do, except go on stage and saw away as best he can. Which he does, even when Spike Jones turns up in another smoke puff to crash the concert. And get a load of Mousy Garner with a face from Goodyear Rubber. I could swear he's Moe's pudgy brother from The Three Stooges. Anyhow Jack does his usual droll asides, performing ably with violin even under extreme circumstances. Fans of an absent Day and Livingston, however, may be disappointed. Rochester makes an early appearance offering his usual funny asides. Anyhow, it's a colorful and laugh loaded episode from that classic series.
