Routine who killed john and totally uneventful except for karri turner and the verve she added to this series ... she finally lands her man in spite of patrick labyorteaux's clumsiness and ineptness ... karri is a welcome fulltime addition to the cast

Closes out the short second season, with our characters established
hindsonevansmike2 February 2021
A so-so by-the-numbers episode to finish the short, 15-episode, second season of JAG. The season was apparently ordered later than normal, once the first season of "JAG" had been watched - and CBS had picked up where NBC left off. By chance, this was shown in February 2021 on one of the CBS channels in the UK (and again in April 2021, providing another chance to view).
Final episode in the short 2nd Series of JAG (the first under CBS control after NBC dropped the series). "Harm" completes his second season whilst "Sarah Mackenzie" completes her first.
The characters are developing nicely and they are clearly comfortable with each other - using little witticisms and comfortable body language. "Mac" gets into the role of a defence attorney defending a client whose lifestyle ("wife-beater") she obviously finds abhorrent. Harm demonstrates quick thinking in court. Mac is upset by the "wife-beater" aspects of this case and asks the Admiral to replace her. He declines and Harm becomes very supportive. Eventually, we learn more of the teenage home life of Sarah Mackenzie and Harm realises just WHY the "wife-beating Marine" character (whom she is defending) is causing her such angst.
Bud and Harriet continue the light-relief roles and their interrupted romantic interlude is finally moved forward (under a blanket on the beach) in the closing seconds of this episode. Harriett eventually brings Bud "back to earth" with a resounding thud - which he clearly enjoys!
This final episode in the short 15-episode second season sets up the next CBS contract renewal, which would eventually deliver another eight full seasons before the wheels finally fell off in 2005.
