"Guess Who's Going to Be a Bride?" guest starred Jackie Coogan (THE ADDAMS FAMILY) as Jeannie's grand uncle Suleiman, who has abdicated as Maharajah of Basenji so that his favorite niece can rule in his place. This is what she decides to give her master for their fifth anniversary, a country! At NASA, Major Nelson is assigned the task of escorting the ambassador of Kasha around the base, unaware that it not only borders Basenji in the Middle East, the two nations are also bitter enemies. Suleiman conducts an investigation of Jeannie's master, Tony assuming that he is the ambassador from Kasha. The knowledge that Tony is a friend to Kasha marks him a traitor in Suleiman's eyes, forced to avenge the honor of Basenji in two ways: assassinate Kasha's Amir (Frank De Vol) or marry Jeannie. Though he manages to avoid the former (with great difficulty), his admitting that he 'wouldn't marry her if she were the last genie on earth' drives off his dejected Jeannie forever. Realizing his mistake too late, Tony admits he truly loves her and sets out for Basenji to win Jeannie back by answering the riddle of the box. It is indeed a lump in the throat moment when the astronaut proposes to his genie, tears of joy forming in her eyes, without knowing his peril by doing so. At episode's end Tony introduces Jeannie as his fiancée to Dr. Bellows and General Schaeffer, though the doctor and his wife would have remembered her at least from the third season's "Divorce, Genie Style" (there would be six episodes of build up before the wedding episode).
