With no money to pay their Park Avenue rent, the ladies are facing eviction from Apartment Manager Augustus P. Tobey (character actor Joseph Kearns, "Dennis the Menace"). They decide to pawn a Louis XIV chair that goes with their apartment to Mr. Simmons (noted character actor Charles Halton) for $375. He cautions them that if is not redeemed in 30 days it will be sold at auction. The ladies forget to go back for the chair, however, and must go to an auction house to prevent anyone else from getting it. The three bid on the chair and win it back for $650. Now they must find a way to pay back the $650. Greta (Lori Nelson) meets a wealthy man at the auction named Frank Jamison (Carleton G. Young) and the two begin dating. She invites the weary businessman to the penthouse for a home cooked dinner, but arrives with groceries to find Mike (Merry Anders) and Loco (Barbara Eden) have pawned all the furniture except the chair to pay the $650. Mike decides to have a luau where furniture would be out of place. With an engagement looking promising, everything seems to be going smoothly, but with their luck something's bound to go wrong.
