Alf was a bit light on with the flaming mongrels this episode. Maybe he was embarrassed from a poor performance in the bedroom

"We are not keeping the dog"

Warning: Spoilers
The opening part of the episode deals with the fallout from the previous episode's cliffhanger, with Tom and Pippa trying to find out the truth about how Carly got her hands on the money.Sharyn Hodgson puts in a fantastic performance in the scene where Carly tells Tom about how her mother died, handling a lot of dialogue without dropping the ball.

Lance and Martin provide some light relief as Martin continues to try to ask Carly out and somehow manages to guilt her into it.There's also a nice bonding moment between Frank and Steven as the former learns about Steven's karate and we get a bit more information about Steven's past.

The main focus of the episode is Lynn and Sally trying to get Tom and Pippa to let them keep the dog they found in the previous episode. This isn't actually as bad as it sounds, with Helena Bozich and Kate Ritchie managing to play their characters with just the right amount of innocence to stop them being unbearable.Lynn has been the most neglected of the older Fletcher children so far but the scene where she tells Carly why she's always wanted a dog adds some much needed depth to the character. When Tom shatters her dream at the end, her reaction is actually understandable.
