The penultimate, and one of the very best episodes, "The Indian Doll" opens with Turtle tribe Chief Killbuck (Ed Wilson) keeping peace with the white man despite dire warnings from elderly medicine man Redwing (Eric Clavering, last of three), and when Killbuck's young daughter Snowbird (Rochelle Goldstein) turns up missing Redwing doesn't hesitate to pour salt in the wound. Fortunately, Hawkeye and Chingachgook are returning with wampum, warmly greeted by little Snowbird, who is presented with a doll as a gift. Her happiness is short lived however, as she is suddenly felled by a strange malady which puts her into a wide eyed trance. Doc Brady (Les Rubie, last of three) is summoned to treat the child, but a fatal arrow shows Hawkeye that human evil is at work, thanks to Redwing's bad medicine, eventually revealed by Doeskin (Vita Linder, last of two). Things get a little sticky until Chingachgook uncovers the late doctor's ipecac that could bring Snowbird out of her deep sleep. Lon Chaney's love of children shines through in his final embrace of little Snowbird. Vita Linder was the younger sister of Cec Linder (Felix Leiter in "Goldfinger"), who died at a youthful 44 in 1966.
