Nice drama

Warning: Spoilers
Taking place in New York City, this story shows us an ordinary family where Eli Wallach plays the lead but also whose kid brother has many difficulties to accept the world where he lives in, missing school, and making juvenile authorities crazy. OK, I admit that Eli Wallach looks more than the kids father than the elder bro, but both are so convincing here...A very sensitive drama, in which many among the audiences could recognize themselves. So, the rebel kid lives with his big brother and his family, a kid whose his late mother misses so much. The kid character performance is absolutely outstanding, so close to what a kid of his age could really feel...He accuses his elder bro to have let their old ma die.

This tale is in the line of the juvenile delinquency films wave that submerged Hollywood during the late fifties and early sixties.
