Excellent heist story
searchanddestroy-125 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Two pals, both construction workers in the street for a big company, find a way to rob a bank by finding the alarm diagram during their jog hours, in a basement. Those two robbers to be are played by Cliff Robertson and Dean Stockwell. But they ask the help of the old timer Charles Bickford. They are not hoodlums, Professional robbers, but only ordinary guys dreaming for a better life. And this can bring them much empathy from the viewer. For instance, when we see Stockwell's character among his family and girl friend, that's so touching. To pull the robbery without any bloodshed, they have an idea. They fake a robbery by jamming the bank vault huge armored door with some explosive, so that the bank executives and the police ask a vault company to send some of their guys to open the jammed door. And our three robbers will impersonate the vault rescue team... They intend to open the door just in front the whole bank employees and clients. In that purpose, they will use many noisy tools such as a pneumatic drill. Everyone in the audience may wish they succeed in their task, so illegal it is...At least, I do. And I assure you that, till the very end, you are glued to your seat. Terrific suspense.
