The One Where Bessie Has Her Baby...

Warning: Spoilers
I really love this episode. It's so good. I love to see everyone helping with Bessie's birth.

In this episode, Capeside High is abuzz with rumors of a teacher's inappropriate contact with a student. They're talking about Pacey and Ms Jacobs. Pacey goes in front of the school board to tell them that it's not true, to save Tamara's job. Meanwhile, Bessie goes into labor at Dawson's house and they have no car to get her to the hospital and the ambulance will take forever, so Jen's Grandmother, with the help of Jen and Joey, deliver the baby, whilst Dawson films it so the baby-daddy won't fully miss out on the birth of his baby.

Overall, I give this episode an 8 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Awesome.

Very good and very flawed, at the same time.

Warning: Spoilers
The Pacey/Tamara affair ends abruptly, when the town is faced with a new scandal. Yet after they were outed, by Pacey himself. They keep meeting at her house, and indulge in inappropriate public displays of affection (?) I don't know if it's an oversight from the directors, but it makes this scene very awkward, with all the neighbors houses and bushes where paparazzis could hide in plain sight. I loved the way Tamara told off Doug at the courthouse scene, though. In the meantime, you have Bessie delivering Alexandre. And I just can't stand her. She's everything I hate about « woke » people. She's narrow-minded and judgy, and as much as Mrs. Ryan can be in her eyes, she didn't hesitate one bit to help her deliver her baby. This is the episode that set the tone for the whole series between grams and Jen, and Pacey's way of sorting out his own messes. Joey and Dawson were more on the background this time. But it was a good thing, and their scenes were kind of a drag. Holmes acting was wooden, and reminiscent of those unflattering impressions of her, they used to make on TV. I also found some music placements weird. Like when Mrs Jacobs leaves in her car, you can hear All I Want, but only for a couple of seconds, and without the usual fade out. That Beth Nielsen Chapman song though, was perfectly placed. I also liked how the opening makes fun of the usual way it is done so far. With both Jen and Joey leaving Dawson, before he has time to mumble his self aware wits of the week.

Okay this was too dramatic

Warning: Spoilers
I love when teen shows are melodramatic but to a reasonable level. The baby delivery thing and a 15 year old boy closing a serious court case...it was a bit too much. I was never too invested in the over religious grandma who hated her atheist grandchild plot so that's why this episode felt so weak. Other than that everything was okay..
