The president of the PTA, Mrs. Kensington (Virginia Hawkins), and her ICCFPPA (Involved Citizens Council For Progressive Political Action), a new group dedicated to reform in local government, comes to Tom's office. They ask Tom to run as their candidate for the school board. An excited Norman wants to be his campaign manager. Tom is also encouraged by Eddie and Mrs. Livingston. He ponders running against how it will affect his life now. After reaching a decision, the ICCFPPA group returns with a different tone.
