Tom is enjoying the company of his new girlfriend Lynn Bardman (Diana Muldaur, "L.A. Law"). The normally opportunistic matchmaker Eddie feels threatened when he sees his father actually serious about someone. He also realizes it may mean losing Mrs. Livingston. Tom decides to slow things down for Eddie's sake. Eddie and Mrs. Livingston both come down with appears to be the flu. Tom asks Lynn to come over and help care for Eddie while he's at work. Through her bungling the two manage to bond, but a revelation is made.
