Warning: Spoilers
The Sniper is a episode of the 1957 series Code 3. 7 woman have been shot in the L.A. area by a sniper. Needless to say that the city is on the edge. Ron Randell is a man who thinks his wife, Osa Massen, might be stepping out with one of her art gallery clients. So he does a bit of copy-cat and puts a long distance shot into her shoulder. The police do an investigation but are not sure it is the same sniper they are after. They do a little digging and it seems that the husband's business is failing while the wife's is thriving. Hubby is not amused and wanted to bring her down a peg. The police of course give the man the 3rd degree and he folds like a house of cards. He just wanted Massen to look up to him. Off he goes for a state visit of 10 years. Not exactly a "classic" by any means! It did kill a half hour though. Directed by vet TV man George Waggner. D of p was Jack MacKenzie who shot Isle of the dead. Rest of the cast included Richard Travis, James Anderson and Myron Jones. (b/w)

The case of the jealous husband

Warning: Spoilers
****SPOILERS*** A deranged psycho has been taking pot shots at women in Los Angeles that's got the city almost on lock down. As this is going on real estate agent George Thayer,Ron Randall, who's successful in business running an art dealership wife Marie, Osa Massen, is the one wearing the pants in the Thayer household. George felling humiliated and less then a man now plans to knock off his wife Marie and make it look like the now dubbed in the media "L.A Sniper" did it!

Showing just how incompetent he is in trying to fool the police in getting his wife whacked by the lone sniper as he is at his job the bumbling George royally screws thing up first making it look like he's the target by shooting out his car window and then later coming back , which the sniper never did, to shoot his wife while coming back from work whom he ends up wounding. Both Marie as well as the police see through Geroge's plan but need enough proof the catch him in the act to arrest him.

***SPOILERS*** The proof is provided by George himself in trying to get a wounded Marie, who he earlier shot while hiding in the bushes, to go on a trip with him in the country and then with no one watching do her in. That with the police showing up and Marie refusing to go on the "Death Trip" and revealing to them what an unstable and crazy nut her husband is! George knowing that his goose is cooked breaks down and admits his sinister plans to do his wife in without the police even once interrogating him. It's not that Marie did anything bad to him but that he couldn't face life in him knowing that she was a better person in both business as well as a spouse then that ungrateful jerk.
