For some odd reason, Alan's aunt (Carol Kane) decides to take Alan with her to Greenwich Village to hang out at a beatnik coffee bar...the epicenter of counter-culture at the time. However, Grandma Sophie is worried about the weirdos they'll meet there and she gets her husband to escort her to the club...hoping to spare Alan from a life of depravity and beret-wearing.
This is a very humorous episode. I especially liked seeing Sophie hanging out with Jack Kerouac and having a marvelous time in the process. Cute and enjoyable...especially if you know much about these folks and the beatnik movement.
