No business like show business
bkoganbing12 March 2015
Patricia Crowley is a young single mother who is the guest star of this Bonanza episode. The ever hospitable Cartwrights naturally give her and her son food and shelter. She has big dreams about success in the entertainment field. But her ambitions might just far outweigh her talent.

You can't tell that to Little Joe who is as the young often do is thinking with his male member. Adam who went to college with Edwin Booth hears that Edwin is coming to Virginia City on the way to San Francisco. He gets Crowley an audition with her.

I think you can see where this one is going. Naturally Little Joe and Crowley don't hook up as Cartwrights never do.

Let's say Crowley feels like Irving Berlin there's no business like show business no matter what you do in it.

Good episode that had heartfelt moments

Warning: Spoilers
When I first started watching this episode and Pat Crowley started singing, I thought oh gosh one of those poor episodes to showcase someone's singing talent. I almost changed the channel. But as it played on, it became a very good love story and very watchable. You could really feel Little Joe's pain when he realized marrying Pat Crowley would not work. And that Pat Crowley is a real looker too, she favors Stephanie Powers to me, in fact at first I thought it was Stephanie because I missed the opening credits.
