Little Joe meets a blond hair young woman, Wendy Daniels, that has arrived in Virginia City to meet her father that will be arriving in a few days. The lovely Wendy has come from Louisiana and is preparing to meet her business-minded father, Taylor Daniels, who is set on opening a freight company right inside Virginia City. Of course Joe falls for the naive Wendy and before long the two young people are seen together everywhere around town.
However, when her father fails to wire her the money for her bills the local banker gets suspicious about her financial affairs. Soon the banker finds out that the whereabouts of Mr Daniels is unknown and it appears that he has little money and no chance of opening any company in town. Cartwright wants to help the young lady and lets her stay at the house while waiting for her father. No one has the heart of telling the young lady that her father may not live up to the reputation she has for him.
The story was actually very nice heart-warming tale that was interesting right to the very end. But it seemed that casting an unknown actress, Judi Rolin as the young Wendy, just did nothing for the production. Even though Ms Rolin was an attractive girl her acting ability was limited. She basically had one emotion for the entire broadcast and seemed stiff and robotic in nearly every scene. Someone else would have been a better choice to make the show well-rounded episode. This is one of those times where acting DID take away from the story.
