Little Joe "trains" Hoss to fight so that the two can split the winnings of a future challenge of a pro fighter.

This is a nice humorous episode that makes caricatures of both of the young Cartwrights. Very silly, not a serious moment in the whole show. Enjoyable humor. This episode presents the two sons in much the same way, goofy, that they seemed for brief periods in many other episodes. The difference is that in this one they are "dufuss" the whole time. Hoss does all the work while Joe acts like he is the "one" putting forth all the effort. Dad sees them both as daft. Except for the "wholesomeness" one might think that the writers had an elephant for free and needed a plot to fit it into. See it to find out about the elephant.

Joe strains himself from thinking so hard

Okay, let's be honest about something. The last episode was iconic. I sincerely doubt they could've followed that episode with something as supreme as that one. But this isn't a bad episode. Has some cute scenes.

You'd think Hoss would stop listening to Joe after a certain point. Well, it doesn't happen in this episode and the two bungle their way through the episode and Joe taking Hoss for a ride the whole time.

I think my favorite scene is Ben riding on Sheba. You had a LOT of close up scenes of Lorne on top of Sheba and we're talking about the 60s. I sincerely doubt they had that much trickery in terms of anything coming close to green screens and what not. Even the photo gallery has an adorable shot of Lorne riding Sheba. Yes, I do think a couple of scenes involved a stunt double. I'd say all of Joe's scenes on top of Sheba were a stunt double.

Adam remains sexy and is particulary snarky in this episode. Love it.
