"The Baby Broker" finds Harris adjusting to his returning mustache, Barney advising him of a few more weeks of looking grubby (Harris: "grubby? Oh Barney, I'm not capable of looking grubby!" Barney: "I beg your pardon!" Harris: "you know, I've tried Barn, I just can't do it!"). Ivor Francis (second of four) plays Professor Henry McDowell, accused of making lewd comments to a young woman in the park. He turns out to be a qualified PhD writing a dictionary on obscenity, and has only reached the letter 'S,' unable to discover one beginning with 'Z' (Yemana has the answer). Wojo brings in a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Adelman (Phoebe Dorin and Fredric Cook), that pulled a young German woman (Martine Getty) off a bus, but refuse to divulge the reason why. What has transpired is that the Adelmans paid attorney Philip Kubrick (Michael Durrell, second of two) $5000 for the German woman's baby, from a building he owns where the beds are lined up like a dormitory for pregnant women. A stunned Nick learns that his place is just around the block ("of course, I don't get out that much!"). Dietrich offers Mrs. Adelman hope by suggesting in vitro fertilization.
