Lancelot's Banishment
Prismark1022 August 2020
This should be called the Derry Nesbitt show. What character will he show up as next?

Here Derry plays Firth, the armourer for King Arthur. He is blunting the swords as Arthur is having a tournament with King Marhaus.

Arthur wants to keep things friendly. Lancelot is concerned that Marhaus is on a land grab and has a thirst for power. It is the kind of talk that gets Lancelot banished.

However King Marhaus's men pick Lancelot up and imprisons him. Lancelot needs to convince Arthur of the rival king's true intentions.

If King Arthur is so trusting, then he deserves to lose his kingdom. Just where does Marhaus's kingdom stretch to? It looks like it is already neighbouring Arthur's land and even then Arthur will not have a word spoken against his rival.

It is a pretty dicey episode as far as the plot is concerned, including a troubadour that takes gossip from King Arthur's court and sings it to Marhaus.

Not the best storyline.

King Arthur fails to believe the words of Lancelot, who accuses King Marhaus of plotting a devious and audacious attack, hiding it behind a friendly attack, Lancelot decides to leave Camelot in protest.

I have to admit, I have a few issues with this episode, the plot itself isn't actually had, it's imaginative, and mixed things up a bit, therein lies the problem, the characters simply don't behave as they should, in a complete 180, Lancelot has gone from being the most trusted knight of all, to a devious and petulant child.

King Arthur has gone from being strong minded and reasoned, to single minded, stubborn, and a little bit dim. Lancelot in turn has become a bit obstinate and petulant.

The story was good, the realisation wasn't.

4/10.
