'Showdown' is a homecoming for Brisco when he returns to the ol' homestead and reopens old wounds. The old house, rekindling young love, a town in need of a sheriff; it's unfinished business all around. But that doesn't mean there isn't time enough for Brisco to do a DUI traffic stop, and Bowler to discover donuts as well as mediate a pre-marital dispute. There's still a stampede, duel in the streets and plenty of fistfights to negotiate. And then there's my favorite, an exchange between Bowler and John "Deadwood" Hawkes himself:
"This here's Utah Johnny Montana"
"That's some name"
"It used to be Utah John Cougar Montana, but he dropped the Cougar because he thought it was pretentious."
Maybe it's the lisp he's affecting for that voice, but it's hilarious.
