Season 7 kicks off with a pretty good 2-part story. Malloy & Reed deal with a sweet, adorable, entirely angelic, lousy, rotten, creepy little vicious brat. That sentence sure took a turn. So does the kid in this episode! A very good little actor. His character has Malloy and Reed convinced of his complete innocense, and he, the actor himself, has the viewer convinced. Very good work by the Director of the episode with this boy.
There's a terrific car chase involving a taxi-cab and another segment that does some nice twisting and turning. This involves a motorcyclist and an elderly man and a nasty accident scene in a parking lot.
Actress June Lockhart guest stars as that bratty kids widowed Mother. Her character is frantic, loving and an absolute mix of emotions. Lockhart is terrific as she pretty much always is, in the countless number of roles she's played in also-countless TV and movie productions.
Special mention for Martin Milner here as well. Of course, he's also always terrific. In this episode he shows a whole lot of range in his acting. Deep concern, surprised shock, angered realization, etc. The sorts of things we've seen from him through-out his years on Adam-12. He just does it all extra-fantastic in this episode.
We get see some great cars in this one. The White over Gold Mustang shows up (of course!) and there's another Mustang in the driveway of the home of the sweet, bratty kid. Then there's the Charter Bus which hauls Malloy, fellow Officer Jerry Woods and a bunch of boys, off to camp. That thing is awesome.
Oh, and Reed gets to drive the squad car! Nice start to what will be the final season of Adam-12.
