Last Call for Aunt Julie

Absolutely fantastic!

On the surface this appears to be just a traditional twee WB family drama, but it is very capable equally of hitting you with some very heavy topics and deliver them in an accessible way.

Excellent.

Best Episode in the Whole Series.

This episode marked the very, very first serious episode in the whole series, which is about the alcoholism. When Eric's sister Julie arrived home to celebrate Thanksgiving Day, all was perfect, but one morning after Simons hide the key where the Camdens save the wine, Aunt Julie went mad at him and tried to hit him, but Annie arrived and troubles began. When Eric talks to her, she denies she's a drunk. Mary gets mad at her and Matt got punished by his aunt. But everything goes wrong, when Julie asks Matt if he could bring her a beer, but for this she was in d-tox so Matt said no, but she tried to hit him when she got upset. For this Eric and Annies decided to take her into a hospital in order to make her feel better. Don't miss this episode which is so great.

Was she an alcoholic or addicted to crack?

The episode was decent at first, then it went completely off the rails, with the whole detoxing thing part. « The rats! The rats! » please, alcohol poisoning don't give hallucinations, like heavy drugs do. This network clearly refused to address that, so writers settled for alcoholism. But it made the whole thing look ridiculous.
