Gives the Sensation of Déjà Vu, but the Conclusion is a Good Surprise
claudio_carvalho25 May 2008
In Landis, the college friends Shawn (Austin Hines), Amber (Tiffany LeShai McMinn), Whitney (Leah Marie Parker), Jesse (Austin James), Madison (Kelly Ray) and Kyle (Catori Swann) organize a party in the Steen's Textile Mill that has been bankrupted and closed a couple of months ago and is abandoned. They invite the son of the owner, the silly Nick (Robert Rainbolt), only to have access to the facility, and the geek Cari (Blaire Welch) to be his date. They go to a convenience store to buy some packs of beer and they humiliate the gentle attendant. Once in the spot, they separate to different places with the intention of having sex. However, their night party becomes a tragic nightmare.

While watching "The Mill", I had the permanent sensation of déjà vu, due to the usual clichés and the similarity with the storyline of "Death Factory". The character Nick with his puppet is absolutely annoying, and the screenplay anticipates the fate of the college students. However, the unexpected conclusion surprised me, and I confess that one of the killers was a good surprise. In the end, "The Mill" is entertaining and the viewer with lesser expectations may enjoy it. The DVD was released in Brazil a couple of months ago, and I do not understand the status "In production" indicated in IMDb. My vote is five.

Warning: Spoilers
A group of college kids decide to go party at the old Steen's Textile Mill plant 24 in Landis. There are three couples plus Nick (Robert Rainbolt) the weird one in the group who they have a set-up. We know from the opening 7 kids die and there is one suspect. They go into the mill and the couples pair off leaving Nick to Roofie his date. The mill is filled with rats, snakes, and spiders plus a large man, who is clearly not Nick is killing kid off.

Pretty much your typical slasher. They could have spent a little time building up some of the characters and maybe provide a theme with a classroom scene. Technically they only find 6 bodies and one missing.

Guide: No swearing. Sex. Nudity (Kelly Ray)
