Gone bad is a small series of short films, detailing the lives of people beset by hordes of the Undead. There are currently two film s available online. The first involves a solitary priest praying to God for forgiveness. His life has been quite busy lately, dispatching the Undead. Specifically he begs forgiveness for killing the zombies of people he knew just days earlier. His prayers are interrupted by a sound, a zombie has wandered into his church. The priest levels his crucifix on the zombie, then raising up, we see it is the cross-hairs of a double barrel shotgun. The zombie is killed and as we pan away from the church we see other assorted zombies make their way toward the lone church.
The next film involves an old man fishing in a dark and night lit pond. Adjusting his hearing aid and radio, the old man thinks he's in for a quite and relaxing night in his boat. Beneath him however, an undead creature lies, his feet affixed to cinder blocks, the victim of perhaps an unfriendly acquaintance with the mafia. The fisherman's worm catches his attention, as does the swing of the Spanish music on the radio. In the end, the fisherman has made quite a catch, unwittingly dragging the ghoul up who drags the fisherman down for a quick snack.
These movies are clever, original and dynamic. They truly use CGI brilliantly, and its refreshing to see a medium that is typically saccharine, used for something so horrifying.
