This Farmer Alfalfa cartoon is one of Paul Terry's silent best as the cat and mouse torment the farmer while he is painting his house, then while he is driving his car. The gags follow each other in a stream-of-consciousness series of events, starting with the baby cars following the one Alfalfa is driving. It all ends in a typical fashion, with all three heading towards the horizon in a fashion that suggests, like a Tex Avery cartoon, that the film ends because they've run out of time, but the jokes until then follow each other with a dream-like logic.
