Johnny Come Lately
Vgo1527 May 2006
OK, so this is horror? I get horror - but I don't get horrific. Black & white is artistic but too much black is overkill.....enough said about the lighting. The story - a serial killer ....... lot's of these around. It's been done in the past and yes, it will continue to be done.....but I hope not. My question is , when will the audience tire of reliving this maddening dilemma? I guess the director thought he would do something different - portray killing children. Well that's been done before too. SO I guess he had to go to shock value.....have them killed in the darkest of fashions. Okay ..... the audience was shocked......sickened....disgusted.....numbed. And getting up out of my seat , I felt all of these things. So was the director successful? Yes! Absolutely! These are the things he wanted me to feel and I did. Now what do I do with the feelings? And more importantly, what is the "message" here? With the amazing talent that Francis Xavier was "gifted" with.....could he ever consider applying it to making films that speak of, dare I say, coming out of the darkness? I was left in the dark after viewing this film, my soul was assaulted....is that what this craft is about? There are many such films out there - they make the bucks I'm told. So what's up with the people that want to see all these deploring visuals? What is going on in this world that people will pay to be horrifically shocked? Would I see this again.....not ever.

My God..... I have seen the new film.. The Tango Dancer

OH MY God I am lost Now I know everything this guy does is Pointless R J A wrote at August 13th, 2006 (posting no. 881): What an awful experience. It looked like a bunch of 3rd graders stole a video camera, borrowed some old editing software from 1995, and played a joke on each other. Trash RGC wrote at August 1st, 2006 (posting no. 747): This movie is a piece of @$#@#@. It sucks Calling this a movie would be misleading. This was a group of friends having a good time and videotaping one another. The storyline was very hard to follow. The attempted artistic camera angles detracted from the story and in to themselves made the entire time a dizzying experience. The acting although comical was very amateurish. The concept is OK, I guess. Perhaps next time, the producers should raise some capital and hire actual professionals and try again. I must say that I'm sick and tired of so many thinking that making a good movie is easy. It is not easy... This fact seems to be lost or ignored by many that believe that without any training/experience and talent that they can make a good product. I guess in the end they will learn just how difficult it is I am so disgusted I HAVE NO COMMENT Chrisite wrote at August 5th, 2006 (posting no. 762):

Not bad at all

This was an good film in my opinion. The character development, acting and lighting were very good. The story blew me away and the concept was very interesting. It is great to see a low budget movie that tells a great story in a concise and easy to understand way. I am surprised to see that there are not more reviews for this film as I heard it received a lot of critical acclaim in the Baltimore area. I am looking forward to The Tango Dancer and have already heard a lot of good news coming from this Indi director.

I think this director has a bright future ahead of him. Bravo Francis! Bravo!

It's the "Johnny Alonso" happy hour...:)

Dear Metropolis films, Life has a funny way of making paths cross. I met your actor Johnny Alonso almost 2 years ago at Red Rock on Sunset. Most actors/actresses boast about what they've done, what they've booked, what you can see them in; thinking whoever they're hitting on will just take their clothes off and sleep with them right there, right now! This Johnny Alonso was the exception to all the dogs I've met in L.A. He was sitting alone at the bar filling the jukebox with old man music, but wearing black leather pants and a faded Ramones t-shirt, the contradiction made me introduce myself to him. I asked if he was an actor or involved with the acting/music industry, he said no. He told me he was a construction worker looking for a job. I told him he's so thin he'd have problems picking up a bag of nails! We drank for awhile, but the whole time he never told me he was an actor. We exchanged info, but I never heard from him, and I lost the napkin he wrote his info on. Just last weekend I was watching TV with my niece and saw Johnny in "Stuck in the Suburbs", BLEW MY MIND. I went on the IMDb and searched his name, your new film came up. Congratulations Francis Xavier and Metroplis Films, I'm anxious to see your new movie. When will it be released locally (Los Angeles), because I'll get everyone in the beach scene (Santa Monica) to see it. I own a surf/clothing/music store and it's kinda like the locals meeting place for gossip and parties. Please tell Johnny I hope to see him again and if he's still looking for work, I'm sure I can find something for him to do. :)

The truth about this movie!!!
afanforyou21 March 2009
I loved this Francis Xavier Production, you have to have enough sense to watch the whole movie not spend time getting up from your couch to get more chips and dip to appreciate the true beauty of this movie!! There is a new production of Francis Xavier Night Cry 2 being filmed with Irv Becker so he must know something about writing producing and directing!!! Just because they are pyscological thrillers and you have to think a little instead of just watching someone killed with no plot does not make this a bad movie!!! We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.~Maya Angelou~ Irv Becker has grown so much as an actor, co-producer, singer. He is already a star, just glowing brighter everyday!! Look for Night Cry 2!! Look for him, he will become your favorite actor as he is mine!!
