There is a deeper meaning behind the story of this film
zzmale2 December 2003
The literal translation of the title is "the son-in-law flew out of nowhere."

Cultural introspection is the meaning behind the story: according to traditional Confucianism in Chinese culture, it is custom for the daughter-in-law to move in with the son's family, taking care the son and the son's parents. Son-in-law move in with the daughter's family, taking care the daughter's parents are usually not accepted. The old teaching needs to be changed/abolished for modernity.
