Quietly disturbing

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this film short during the All Freakin' Night horror movie marathon in Olympia, WA a few years back. I have to say that for being just a handful of minutes long, with no dialog, and using a budget of roughly $3.55, it evoked a better sense of dread than some of the other (albeit intentionally campy) full length movies I saw that evening. The film is able to make comment on the essential bestial nature of humanity when faced with the needs and demands of basic survival. It also was able to be disturbing and somewhat grotesque without any violence; a hard task for any film. For these reasons alone, it is worth checking out. A really good example of doing more with less.

Distractions

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Although its unusual situation is probably what most people will remember about this film, the theme of survival and the animalistic portrayal of humans is overlooked. I, for one, was too distracted by the logistics and mechanisms of the "food" (e.g., what is it?, how did it get there?, etc.) to recognize the basic themes. However, the film succeeds in commanding attention and lasting in the viewers mind for a while after watching.
