Let's get down to the real issue
mhh12491 August 2002
This film successfully breaks through the fluff of life and lays you flat on your back with the real issue. Where are you with God? It brings together a group of individuals trapped on the first floor of a collapsed building as the result of an earthquake. Though there are cleverly placed lines of humor and sarcasm this is not a group of comedic castaways from Gilligan's Island. Rather, we are introduced to five souls who must come to grips with the possibility of death. This film brilliantly points out the faith of one woman (Lilly) - her resolve, peace, love, and concern for others - and the fear and embarrassment of a second woman (April) who has abandoned the faith she once had. And the director doesn't leave the other characters behind as each one painfully exposes themselves when all appears hopeless.

I really appreciate the combination of first rate story writing, acting, effects and editing. It's common to find even good films where one of these is mediocre. I give it a 10!

It is a film that touches peoples hearts and gives food for thought.

It identifies human nature and how our perception shifts are circumstantially motivated. Sometimes we build on sand, yet there is a rock if we choose it. If you would like to stay out of touch, in denial, please do not watch this film :)
