What can I say about this strange, weird movie? I hesitate between laugh and serious. The story of two petty hoodlums who pull petty heists all aver the deep France country side. The typical seventies counter culture cinema, a sort of equivalent of some US stuff. For instance some Monty Hellman's movies. The director, a nude features specialist, tried this time a crime flick. It remains a B towards Z piece of work. Not uninteresting although. I only know Michel Creton here. The filming is pretty OK, not intellectual done as could have been a new wave film. Some audiences could tell that as non sense. The most I like here is the characters for whom you can feel real empathy. The story seems freely inspired from Pierre Loutrel's story. Aka Pierrot Le Fou, nuts Pierrot, a notorious bank robber just after the WW2, whose the same nick name was used for the lead character's play.
