Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super featured Future Trunks, who quickly stood out from its vast array of characters, as he was given a few emotional moments with his father, Vegeta. His story is different from others, where he is shown how his world was eradicated by the Androids in Dbz, and again by Goku Black and Zamasu in Dbs. Despite having a tragic background, there’s no denying that Future Trunks fights for a greater cause like he did in the Cell Saga and the Goku Black Saga.

However, what stood out was how there was one particular aspect of his development that made him stand out which was quite baseless to be used. Toriyama-Sensei featured our Saiyan with two Ssj forms, which was quite useless; to explain how useless it was, Kakarot and The Prince of All Saiyans would never use it,...

Frieza has been an on-and-off villain in Dragon Ball for a long time. This bald lizard of an alien is always the hardest to defeat and forces Goku to achieve a new Super Saiyan form every time he appears.
After Frieza was repeatedly defeated in the manga, you must have thought he was finally done, right? If you thought so then Akira Toriyama’s last joke has been well-played on you. In an interview, the illustrator of Dragon Ball Super, Toyotarou, revealed that Frieza’s comeback has been planned for a long time.
Even more shocking is the news that the villain’s latest form has been inspired by a joke.

A big-screen adaptation of The Legend of Zelda is on the way. Nintendo is working with Sony Pictures Entertainment on the new Zelda project, following the $1 billion success of Universal’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie adaptation.
Sony will distribute the live-action flick, which will be helmed by Wes Ball, the man behind the Maze Runner trilogy. But did you know that way back in 2010, a tweet from the director showed off his amiable disposition when he admitted to not even harboring the hope that he’d spearhead the direction of a project as epic as The Legend of Zelda?

Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa and Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama are two of the biggest names in the anime and manga world. The two series have inspired many mangakas and have been a source of entertainment for millions of fans. But what many people don’t know is that the two masterpieces share an interesting connection.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009)
The intriguing similarity between the two is that the mangakas of both series, Toriyama and Arakawa, drew inspiration from animals for their creations. A big part of Dragon Ball, The Great Ape, is inspired by monkeys, and in the case of Fullmetal Alchemist, the Law of Equivalent Exchange is inspired by Arakawa’s experience while working on the farm with animals.
Both creators have mentioned their love for animals and how it led to them creating some of the most inspirational manga in history.

When we talk about renowned manga series in the otaku community many popular names come to our mind. The choices are vast as fans would say names of popular titles like Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Demon Slayer, and many more. However, Akutami-san’s and Oda-Sensei’s work remains on top of the charts, both mangas have broken numerous records in 2023.
A still from Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen
Jjk claimed the title of #1 anime as it was immensely popular among its viewers, while Op kept its viewers hooked on the series as the manga progressed into one of its final arcs. Despite immense popularity, neither of the two titles claimed the spot of the most-selling manga in 2023. Much to the surprise of the fans of both series, the spot was claimed by Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s Blue Lock, and the difference between their sales is immense.

Fortnite is known for collaborating with big media franchises, especially anime series like Naruto, Dragon Ball, One Piece, My Hero Academia, etc. However, this time, fans may not be happy with the alleged Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration. The worst characters in gaming are typically the ones these protagonists are up against. However, amid the shortage of single-player campaigns, thanks to the live service epidemic, protagonists are becoming rare in video games.
But that’s not always the case. Sometimes, protagonists can be just as annoying. The sad part is players cannot get rid of them if they like the video game they are playing. Such a dilemma.
Why Do Antagonists Have All the Hate When These ‘Pros’ Are There? Here Are the Most Hated Protagonists of Gaming
Some characters will stick with the players like glue, and while the players may want to bury them in the ground, it’s not really possible. Let’s say they are just hanging by the mercy of the video game, as players won’t be allowed to proceed further without them. We picked five of such characters whom gamers might find very lovable.

Akira Toriyama’s Decision to Abandon His Original Plans for Dragon Ball Also Changed Goku Completely
Dragon Ball is famous for its action scenes, iconic protagonist, and the classic ‘Kamehameha’ move. But did you know that Akira Toriyama began Dragon Ball as a comedy series at first? At its inception, the manga was not very popular, and Akira Toriyama was inspired by Journey to the West and Jackie Chan’s kung-fu movies.
The resulting Dragon Ball manga had a tiny Goku with a lot of gag elements. However, it started gaining popularity only after some of the battles were featured. In the end Toriyama had to change the style of Dragon Ball as well as Goku.

Ever since Akira Toriyama first created the Dragon Ball series, two characters have always been the center of attention, Goku and Vegeta. The latter went from being a one-time villain to one of the most important characters of the franchise. Since the beginning, it has been their story, one that fans have wholeheartedly followed.

A storyboard is the most crucial part of any series, especially in the case of anime or manga. However, this was not the concern of legendary manga artist Akira Toriyama, who blessed the manga and anime world with the creation of Dragon Ball. This was revealed by the illustrator of the Dragon Ball Super manga, Toyotarou.
Dragon Ball Super by Akira Toriyama
Toyotarou has been working on Dragon Ball Super since 2015, and he is probably the biggest Dragon Ball and Toriyama fan in the world. His career started by creating Dragon Ball illustrations, and after the death of Toriyama, many believe that Toyotarou will be the one who continues the remaining story of Dragon Ball in the future.
When Dragon Ball Super got its anime adaptation in 2016, Toyotarou gave an interview where he discussed his relationship with Toriyama and also talked about Toriyama’s mindset regarding the narrative of Dragon Ball Super.

The Dragon Ball franchise has given the fans several memorable moments. But the most iconic of all remains when Goku transformed into Super Saiyan for the first time against Frieza. Goku was consumed by rage after the latter killed Krillin in front of him. Since then, there has been no stopping for the transformation, with the latest one being the Ultra Instinct in Dragon Ball Super.
Dragon Ball had a Martial Arts theme, and after the Frieza Saga, it started to focus more on the transformation. But there is a flaw in the Dragon Ball timeline, which was missed by most of the fans. Even before the Super Saiyan transformation, there was a ‘False Super Saiyan’ form, which was featured in Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug film.

Energy is high again as the new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero trailer has landed on video sharing platform YouTube. This time, it is themed ‘Master vs. Apprentice’ and showcases some unbreakable bonds we saw back in our days. It will be a nostalgic ride for many. The video features characters including Piccolo, Master Roshi, Yamcha, and more.
But the fans have their eyes turned to somewhere else. They are highlighting one feature that may make the game more interesting than ever. And if the speculation arrow is on point, then we might come to know that it is being pulled straight from another Dbz video game.

Master Roshi is among the funniest characters in the Dragon Ball universe.
Dragon Ball seems incomplete with just one-vs.-one battles. But one taking on two or even all the Z fighters is definitely the Dbz thing.

Dragon Ball characters, be they protagonists or antagonists, are known to be some of the strongest characters in the anime and manga universe. One such character is Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7. Although he is now a supporting character in Dragon Ball Super, he was introduced as one of the strongest villains Akira Toriyama’s universe has ever seen.

Fans of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen shared a post on X(Formerly Twitter) that pointed out that the antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna, might be stronger than Beerus.

Akira Toriyama revolutionized anime in 1991 when he introduced the Super Saiyan transformation in his magnum opus, Dragon Ball. Every fan of the series knows about this iconic transformation and when Goku first transformed into SSJ1 during episode 95 of Dbz in the Namek Saga, where he fought an epic battle against Frieza.
Kakarot’s power dramatically increased in this transformation, and so did his looks, as his hair turned from black to blond and had a golden aura around him.
Goku vs. Gohan in Dbs
Every time, when the manga artist features Goku or Vegeta in this iconic form, fans get excited, as the scene gets electrifying, making them jump off the couch with excitement.
However, it looks like the Toriyama-Sensei had taken one Super Saiyan secret to the grave, as a theory looms about how there are possibly three different Super Saiyan paths in the series.

Goku is believed to be the first Saiyan to achieve the Super Saiyan state in over a thousand years. But doesn’t it sound too unnatural to you? Even if we don’t count Goku, Dragon Ball has numerous Super Saiyan transformations. So how come the species known for their bloodlust never attained the most basic Super Saiyan state in a thousand years?
What if the unattainable Saiyan form was never the base yellow one but something else? Goku and Vegeta, who are both far-removed from the Saiyan society might not even know which state is in the legends.
One character, however, showed a transformation, which could very well be in the Saiyan legends.

Akira Toriyama had created numerous Super Saiyan forms for Goku & Co., all of which were helpful in defeating various enemies. However, some Super Saiyan forms were not seen after their reception, mainly due to the faults in their powering systems.
Some of the most useless Super Saiyan forms in Dragon Ball are undoubtedly Super Saiyan 3 and Super Saiyan 1.5. These forms have a greater number of disadvantages when compared to what they can offer in combat.
The characters found out the impracticalities of these forms the hard way, and here is everything you need to know about them.

The mythical world of Naruto, which features supernatural elements such as Ninjas and Jutsus, may appear to be the most intriguing aspect of Masashi Kishimoto’s work, yet it was not the primary focus. Kishimoto once stated that the trouble with a fantasy universe is that fans can’t draw parallels between imagination and reality.

Goku, the protagonist of Dragon Ball and one of the strongest characters in the anime world, is known for a lot of things. From his goofy attitude to his never-ending hunger to fight strong opponents, Goku has developed quite a distinctive personality for himself. But one thing that makes him iconic is his unique hair.
Goku’s Super Saiyan Hairstyle
Goku’s hairstyle is one of the most popular traits of the character. His different Saiyan forms have had different hairstyles, and fans have loved all of them. These hairstyles also became a depiction of his various power-ups in the Dragon Ball universe. His style became so iconic that Akira Toriyama started using it with other Saiyan characters too.
However, Toriyama once revealed that Goku’s unique hair is not just a fashion statement or a power depiction, but it helps him compensate for a major factor in the Dragon Ball manga.

In their quest to create a unique character, mangakas often build an overpowered or ‘stronger than the rest’ protagonist, who has plot armor from the get-go. Whether it is Dragon Ball or One Piece, the heroes are always a class apart. So, how come Naruto turned out to be such a goofy loser?
For Masashi Kishimoto, off-screen character development is not a viable option, which is why he built Naruto from scratch. For a major part of the anime, the protagonist is seen losing, suffering, training, and getting defeated until he learns from all his mistakes.
Consequently, watching Naruto’s journey helped readers and watchers develop a close bond with him.
How is Naruto ‘Different’?

When it comes to the legacy of Dragon Ball, canon plays a more major role than its characters. This is because even though there are so many Dragon Ball films, none of them are considered canon in the series’ universe, except Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In the series’ long run, Broly has made quite a few appearances in the series, but he became an official part of the franchise when his standalone film was released.

Son Goku and Vegeta are two of the most iconic characters, and their transformations remain unmatched even today. Even though the protagonists are powerful and popular, Akira Toriyama thought of a different character who could become the protagonist in a separate series.

The mangaka always put his soul into his work and did what he thought was best for the fans. Dragon Ball was quickly picked up by the fans and slowly became a global sensation.

Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actor of Monkey D. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, might have found the perfect replacement who can take over her role as Luffy. Tanaka has been voicing Luffy for almost thirty years, and she has done a great job portraying the character over the years.

However, as she is getting old and the series is still a little far away from the conclusion, the creators might have to find someone else who could do justice to the character of Luffy. This has also become a major concern for Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. Oda never imagined that the series would go on for so long.
In an interview, Oda talked about how Masako Nozawa, the character who voiced Dr. Kureha in One Piece, offered to take Tanaka’s role as Luffy’s voice actor in One Piece.

The biggest no-brainer question in the world is probably: “Who is the strongest Dragon Ball character?” In fact, some otakus might even hunt you down if the answer is anything but Goku. Yet, what if I said that Akira Toriyama himself planned to usurp Goku’s power within Dragon Ball with none other than his own son?
Yes, the person in question is Gohan, the son of Goku and Chi Chi who has achieved many feats of strength in the Dragon Ball franchise. While he is a well-known character, Goku and Vegeta still reign supreme over hearts. But the power equation might topple once Gohan grows older.

Kohei Horikoshi sensei has done the magnificent by creating a masterpiece series like My Hero Academia from a figment of his imagination. TV Asahi is one of Japan’s best-known television channels, and anime fans will know it as well for its contribution to the anime market, which includes Crayon Shin-chan, Doraemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Blue Lock, Boys Over Flowers, Slam Dunk, Sailor Moon and numerous Gundam titles. But, recently, TV Asahi has decided to make a slightly different contribution to the world of anime by revealing a list of the 20 best anime songs of all time in a special program, but with a twist.
Namely, these songs were selected and ranked only by foreign, non-Japanese fans from around the world. The list includes songs from different time periods, which is why it is a very diverse list, and that is always a good thing. Sadly, we don’t have the special for you as it is not available for streaming, but we do have the list, so enjoy some of the best anime songs ever!
