Cardi B is makeup-free and draped in an orange, impossibly plush, queen-size blanket as she shuffles into Glenwood Place Studios in Burbank, California, around nine o’clock one evening in mid-March. Whatever hairstyle she currently has (knowing Cardi, it could be anything from a wig worth thousands to her fluffy, waist-length natural hair) is tucked under a giant bonnet, its magenta-and-teal geometric print immediately familiar from videos she’s posted on TikTok.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Fallout” Season 1
The Season 1 finale of Prime Video’s “Fallout” left audiences with many unanswered questions around the scientist-turned-New California Republic leader Lee Moldaver, such as how she survived the nuclear apocalypse and her relationship to Lucy’s mother, Rose MacLean.
Sarita Choudhury, who portrays Moldaver, revealed that she “knows enough” about the answers to these questions, but remained tight-lipped.
“I was told enough to play each scene,” she told TheWrap in a recent interview. “When I had the first meeting, I was told a lot, and then as we were shooting… It was so coveted, this information, and the writers are so brilliant, they’re so caring. They wanted to give us everything, but at the same time, they couldn’t give everything. So I know more than you do, but I don’t know as much as them.”

A big-budget live-action adaptation of a cult Nickelodeon animated fantasy series, the return of a sports docuseries that transformed the global appeal of Formula 1, a new animated feature written by the incomparable Charlie Kaufman, and another season of a reality dating show that inspires equal parts love and hate on social media are among the standout projects hitting Netflix in February.
Netflix’s big feature release this month is the animated film Orion and the Dark, which debuts Feb. 2. Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson said that ex-President Donald Trump is paranoid he will be “poisoned.”
Hutchinson’s new book, Enough, details the president’s phobia that can make dining problematic for him.
Hutchinson recently told comedian Jimmy Kimmel on his show, “[Trump] does have a very potent fear of being poisoned… So he uses and prefers the small Heinz glass ketchup bottles because he likes to hear his valet or whoever’s serving him his meal, he likes to hear the ‘pop’” when the bottle opens.
Her comments were in response to Kimmel’s reference to her testimony in front of the House committee in the investigation of the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
Hutchinson said she found ketchup on the wall with a shattered plate in the West Wing dining room after Trump threw his meal in anger.

In her newly published book Enough, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson claims Rudy Giuliani groped her during her time working for former President Donald Trump.
Hutchinson, 26, who delivered testimony to the congressional committee that investigated the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, claims that Giuliani groped her on the day of the riot.
In her book, Hutchinson described meeting with Giuliani backstage at a speech of Trump’s before a mob of his supporters stormed the Capitol building in a protest against the results of the 2020 election. Hutchinson asserts that the former New York mayor put his hand under her skirt during this time.
“I fight against the tension in my muscles and recoil from Rudy’s grip,” Hutchinson writes in her book.
Former Trump ally John Eastman was also present during the incident, Hutchinson alleges.

Mark Meadows burned so many papers in his office fireplace during his final months as Donald Trump’s chief of staff that his wife had to dry clean his clothes to rid them of the “bonfire smell,” according to his former senior aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s new memoir.
Hutchinson served as a key witness in the House committee’s investigation into the Capitol insurrection on January 6, 2021. Her book, Enough, was published on Tuesday and included incriminating details about other members of the Trump administration.
The ex-Meadows aide previously testified to the House committee that she had seen her boss burning documents in his office upwards of a dozen times, and wrote in her memoir that she “would sometimes find [Meadows] leaning over the fire, feeding papers into it, watching to make sure they burned.”

“This is the first time I’m talking about this, but essentially, through doing sex therapy – sex and relationship therapy – I realized that really something that I thought was a relationship that I had, when I was 17, was actually I was groomed. Then why that realization happened in my 30s was because I was finally his age.”
The troubling experience was so impactful that it led to the track “Your Age” from her 2022 album Hold the Girl.

Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson wants everyone to know: she never dated Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida).
Hutchinson’s new book, Enough, was released on Tuesday. In it, she details her experiences working for the White House during Trump’s administration, including inappropriate moments with Gaetz.
One story claims that Gaetz “brushed his thumb across [her[ chin” and asked her, “Has anyone ever told you that you’re a national treasure?”
In another instance, Hutchinson recalls Gaetz allegedly knocking on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy‘s (R-California) cabin door during a Camp David retreat, looking for Hutchinson. When asked what he needed, he allegedly claimed that “he was lost and needed [Hutchinson] to escort him back to his cabin.” McCarthy told him “to get a life” before closing the door.
While discussing her new book on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, Rachel Maddow asked Hutchinson what she thought of a statement Gaetz provided the talk show host, denying the alleged incidents.

When Tony Weaver Jr. realized he’d need an art team to make his manga dreams come true, he came up with a radical idea for finding great artists: He’d actually pay them what they were worth.
And not only that, but he’d guarantee them a full-time job at his company, Weird Enough Productions, with all the standard benefits.
How did that work out for him?

Mother’s Day is on the horizon, and it’s natural to celebrate those who give their all to their families. Mothers like Sarah Connor, Ripley, and Charlie Baltimore carry on the tradition of action heroines that are lionesses protecting their cubs from the threats of predators. Jennifer Lopez seeks to join the badass mothers with her new action thriller, The Mother. Netflix has just dropped the trailer showcasing Lopez’s new physical prowess to take down all comers threatening to hurt her daughter to get to her.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads,
A deadly female assassin comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men.
The cast includes Lopez as the titular Mother. Lucy Paez, from films Silencio andThe Exorcism of Carmen Farias, plays Zoe, the Mother’s 12-year-old daughter. Omari Hardwick, known for Kick-Ass,...

Studios that utilized theaters to boost PVOD prospects saw their efforts pay off this week. The 19.99 “Plane” (Lionsgate) and “M3GAN” (Universal) lead the VOD charts, followed by Christmas titles “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” (Universal/24.99) and “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody” (Sony/19.99). With studios recouping 14 or more from each transaction, that’s a bonanza — especially with three of those films still in the box office top 10. Synergy at last!
“Plane” is #1 on iTunes and Vudu, #2 on Google Play, with the order reversed for “M3GAN.” “Puss” is #3 on Google Play, fourth on the others. “Whitney,” new this week, is #3 on Vudu and #7 on iTunes. It has yet to chart at Google Play (which often lags), but perhaps it isn’t helped by the site listing it as a “documentary.” “Triangle of Sadness” (Neon/6.99) took the #3 spot at iTunes.

The VOD charts saw an infusion of new blood with Lionsgate’s “Plane” (19.99) surging ahead in its first week. It ranks #1 at iTunes, #2 on Vudu’s weekly chart (disadvantaged by its Friday release), and #4 at Google Play, which always lags a few days behind.
That puts it ahead of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (Disney), “Babylon” (Paramount), and “House Party” (Warner Bros. Discovery), all at 19.99. “Wakanda” also streams on Disney+.
“Plane” and “House Party” both came out after their third weekends in theaters. That was expected for “House Party,” the first of several films initially destined for HBO Max but instead debut with less-elevated theatrical play before going to the streaming site.
For “Plane,” it’s an unusual move. The Gerald Butler-produced action film did well in theaters over the three weekends before it added home viewing, but initial response suggests value in moving quickly.

February is for lovers. But with its list of new releases for February 2023, Netflix is unveiling another season of arguably its least romantic show.
That’s right: Joe is returning in You season 4 part 1 on Feb. 9. This time around our central stalker played by Penn Badgley is across the pond in jolly old England, living an unassuming life as a bearded professor and looking for his next target. If you don’t get your fill of You this month, stay tuned for the second part of season 4 in March.
You will be joined in February by a third season of another buzzy Netflix original. The kids of Outer Banks return on Feb. 23 to find their literal and metaphorical treasure once and for all. Other originals this month include rich dog docuseries Gunther’s Millions on Feb. 1 and animated family title My Dad the Bounty Hunter on Feb. 9.

It’s only fitting that the Sundance Film Festival would mark its in-person return with a new movie from one of its most noted directors – Nicole Holofcener, the indie stalwart whose first film “Walking and Talking” put her on the map with its 1996 festival premiere.
This Sunday, she will debut “You Hurt My Feelings,” a second collaboration with Julia Louis-Dreyfus (cover star of the Variety Sundance issue). Like Holofcener’s other intimate portraits of love and neurosis, the film sees Louis-Dreyfus as a middling writer struggling to get her new novel off the ground. She lives in co-dependent bliss with her therapist husband (Tobias Menzies) until she fatefully overhears him complaining that he hates her work, despite his years of encouragement and praise. Chaos ensues across the Manhattan apartments and restaurants where their lives play out.
It’s exactly the kind of small but loaded relationship drama that has sent...

Jennifer Lopez surprised Ben Affleck at their wedding in Savannah, Georgia, last month when singer-songwriter Marc Cohn sang two of his songs, “The Things We’ve Handed Down” and “True Companion” while she walked down the aisle.
“Ben and I talked about Marc Cohn’s “True Companion” as the perfect wedding love song in this very house more than 20 years ago. Though Ben didn’t know, I asked Marc to surprise him by singing it at our wedding and he was lovely and generous to come,” Lopez told People.

Val Kilmer has expressed an interest in reprising his role as Batman in a future DC project.
The actor starred as the caped superhero in the 1995 film Batman Forever but has not appeared as the character in any films since.
In an email interview with IGN entertainment manager Jim Vejvoda, Kilmer revealed some past films that he’d like to do a modern-day version of, if given the opportunity.
“Heat would be fun,” he began, in reference to the 1995 crime thriller. “I love Michael Mann. We get along great and we have a great deal of trust.”
Then, the interviewer questioned whether he’d participate in a “multiverse” scenario, in the vein of Spider-Man: No Way Home featuring Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire all as Spider-Man.
“Specifically, we now have multiple universes in comic book movies where actors who've played Batman or Spider-Man in the past team up...

Jamie Campbell Bower: tentacled "Stranger Things" villain and . . . talented musician? After making his season four debut as One/Vecna/Henry Creel, the show's confusing yet supernaturally attractive villain, Bower has become a fan favorite, but his acting talents aren't the only reason we're obsessed. In addition to starring in popular fantasy films like "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" and "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald," Bower is also a skilled musician who can shred a punk-rock song on the guitar or serenade a crowd with his impressive piano playing.
The "Stranger Things" star, known on stage as Jamie Bower, kickstarted his music career in London in 2015 when he helped form the English punk-rock band Counterfeit. Additional members included guitarist Sam Bower (the actor's brother), guitarist Tristan Marmont, bassist Roland Johnson, and drummer James Craig. Traditionally, Easter Sunday in the Black church is exuberant. From the Saturday following Good Friday to the day itself, Black hair salons are booked and buzzing as the smell of hair oils and smoke from hot iron combs permeates the air. Black children, tired from Easter egg festivities and or rehearsals for the church play, recite Easter speeches relentlessly for Sunday morning worship. And on that Sunday, as collard greens stew in pots with ham hocks or turkey necks, Black folks — in their finest suits, dresses, and hats — congregate in...

The movie adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony-winning musical In the Heights is finally here, and it's filled to the brim with countless numbers that showcase Washington Heights and the extremely talented cast. The film - which is currently streaming on HBO Max and playing in theaters - has a running time of about 143 minutes, but we promise you won't want to miss a single second. In fact, you'll actually want to stay through the entire credits for a fun little addition.
The film has a bonus performance that fans of the original musical will certainly appreciate. Though a handful of tracks were cut from the movie - including "Inútil" and "Enough" - we do get to see Miranda perform "Piragua (Reprise)" at the very end. After feuding with Christopher Jackson's character over their businesses, Miranda's character gets the last laugh when the Mister Softee truck breaks down and everyone runs to his piragua stand.

As part of Rolling Stone‘s Icons & Influences series, Maren Morris discussed what Sheryl Crow meant to her as a budding musician in the late Nineties.
“I would just gush over her album inserts, and see who played on what song, did she write these songs with the same people from the last album,” the country singer recalled. “I remember kind of obsessing over her early on.”
Morris emphasized Crow’s particular songwriting style, pinpointing “Strong Enough” as “one of her greatest songwriting achievements.”

Film CommentaryThis is a beautifully made film but it's not without its share of problematic depictions.Sanjana DeshpandeYouTubeAfter sweeping accolades, the Tillotama Shome and Vivek Gomber starrer Is Love Enough? Sir released on Over-the-Top platform Netflix on January 9, and much has been written about the film since. The Hindi film explores the slowly brewing love story between Ratna (Tillotama Shome), a widowed domestic worker, and her rich employer, Ashwin (Vivek Gomber). The two of them belong to the extreme ends of the social spectrum. The film plays out like a poem, exploring the impossible and often moving dreams of two people whose love will likely remain unrequited. During the 99-minute runtime, director Rohena Gera examines the relationship between Ratna and Ashwin while subtly making a comment on class differences, how the upper-class views those who are from a stratum lower than theirs, and the gaze employed in their interactions. Although...

Michael Apted was 22 when he joined the crew of “Seven Up!,” a British made-for-television documentary that profiled 14 children from different class backgrounds. That made him 15 years senior to his subjects, with whom he maintained contact, establishing an almost familial connection that spanned more than half a century.
Apted did not direct the original 1964 documentary, as is commonly thought, nor was that initial installment such an important landmark in the field of nonfiction filmmaking. The breakthrough came in Apted’s decision to continue the project with an hour-long follow-up TV movie seven years later, “7 Plus Seven” — and again every seven years after that — revisiting as many of the children as would agree to participate as they grew up, found their ways in life, fell in love, married, divorced and so on.
As conceived, the “Up” series had a decidedly sociological bent, focusing on the British class system and to what degree...
