The Movie should have poofed
andykleinendorst14 September 2001
This movie did not look good in the previews, but I still watched it. Tahj Mowry is a good actor, but honestly he should not have wasted his time with this movie. The Special effects may have been superb, but that's about all I have to say good about the movie. The plot was way too run together, and didn't even make sense. I mean they didn't exactly describe the characters very well. The ending was also odd. They are using their time machine to ruin history it seems.

A waste of time and money

What the heck was Disney thinking when they saw this script???When you compare this to other great Disney Channel movies like "Rip Girls","Color of Friendship" and the up coming "Cadet Kelly",this is the worst movie having anything to do with Disney. The story was bad,the acting worse and was the LOWEST rated movie last year for Disney. This might explain why it is never seen in repeats and should be burned.....'nuff said!

Meh. Tween movie for sure!
tokanac27 May 2023
I like the concept of time travel, so this one slightly piqued my interest, but failed to keep it.

If I was a tween again, this would have probably kept my attention and I probably would have watched it more than once.

The writing and storyline are cheesy, but, honestly, what can you expect from a movie aimed at tweens? In saying that, the actors did a good job with the material they had to work with. The best part for me? The dog! I am an animal lover, though.

Would I recommend it? To a tween, yes.

Would I recommend it for parents? Parents may get a little bored with this one!

Would I watch it again? No.

Not the worst movie out there, but just not my cup of tea.

Not Bad
the_gelatinous_wolf18 September 2001
Well, I really like the Disney Channel, and I'm 13, so this is probably understandable to most of you ... but I like this movie. This movie is made for teens, so obviously little kids won't get it and adults will think it's dumb. That narrows it down a lot. To me, this plot makes a lot of sense, and except for a few short stupid moments, this film is overall great. Tahj Mowry (Eddie) is also a great actor, and he really gets into his characters. So, overall, you will probably like this movie, but probably only if you're a teen and interested in this kind of movie (sci-fi.)

This movie makes GREAT points about parent-teen relationships!
tekka222 September 2001
Even though two of the lead actors are teens, the real stars of this movie are the adults (due to the versatility of their roles). The teenagers are only expected to act like teenagers, but the parents' roles require them to even act like 2-year olds. The wonderful thing about this movie is the insight that the teens are given into the lives of their parents. I think the writers did a great job showing that even though parents sometimes seem to forget what being a teen was like, they nevertheless had to survive puberty also. This is a fantastic movie for parents and teens to watch together in the hopes of keeping the communication lines open!

The kind of silly that captivates me...
RosanaBotafogo3 December 2022
This is a movie about two scientists who invented a time machine. A critical part falls out of the time machine before they get into it to test it. Nothing seems to happen at first, but when they wake up the next day they are regressing in age (physically and mentally), The kind of silly that captivates me...

It's so silly, so absurd, so exaggerated, that it becomes so cute and so captivating, a simple and well-made script of an adult becoming a baby again, going back in time, rejuvenating, the family is very cute and funny, what's more Conquer us in simplicity, in silly situations, the kind of silly that captivates me...

Good actors in a predictable story
anidapandida6 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The Poof Point, which I find myself finishing just now at 1 AM., is a... Cute... movie; fit for children around the ages of 10 to 13. The ending is as one would expect *spoiler ahead* in which the parents are saved by the combined forces of both the children, at the very last second, after learning that their parents have much more in common with them than the teenagers would ever have thought. The movie is good for family night, but not the one that I would pick out. it is predictable and highly unbelievable with the colorful "high tech" lab equipment, as well as minor points, such as the very convenient no appearance change for the actors and the HUGE skips in ages during every decrease to prominent ages in life (from 40 to 21 to 14 to 7 to 2) were made very obvious. The actor's, though centered around the kids, I must give my applause to the adults for the need to play multiple ages, did well in their roles, it was believable and quite interesting to watch the adults connect with their kids in ways such as the mother's rant about teenage anxiety and the father's ability to do fun bicycle tricks and play the guitar. The movie only seemed to catch my interest because my TV so happened to be on the channel when it began, but otherwise, i would not have continued to watch after 10 minutes of the beginning, because, one, i already knew what the movie was about from the info tab and could figure out the ending and, two, the storyline seems used before, but in different surrounds and situation. It is not the best movie and I see why it's on at 1 AM; not one of Disney's best works, but good for the kids.

Don't Listen To Them
lancersrulenojoke17 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Disney Channel never should have taken this movie off of their channel. this movie was not as bad as people say. i really enjoyed it. its a good family movie with some pretty far fetched ideas. Just because its a fantasy movie doesn't mean that its not a good movie. Even Though Its Not One Of The Best, Its still pretty good. Its about two scientists who build a machine that can make you younger. Its pretty cheesy at the beginning but once they use the machine, the movie gets good. Some people are too judgmental saying that movies are always bad. But don't listen to them. A few opinions doesn't mean anything. WATCH THIS MOVIE! its a must-see ;)

awesomeness
mimiglinda3821 September 2006
this movie is so awesome and if you think otherwise then you are obviously mentally disturbed. Tahj Mowry is more awesome than you'll ever be and this is a good idea on Disney's part and you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking otherwise.i must say that i love this movie! i think the acting was good and so was the production. when u have to come out with a different movie every single month, sometimes the movies may not be as good as they could possibly be but i give two thumbs way up to Disney and this fabulous film.i also think that this film also inspires youths and even adults to dream of someday making a scientific discovery. this movie explores so many things that may have never been imagined if not for the witty and wise writers at Disney studios. my favorite character in this movie has to be Tahj Mowry. he did such a good job with this movie and is a fabulous actor. there is no doubt about that. Tahj also does a fabulous job in all of his movies/shows such as Kim Possible, smart guy, seventeen again, smart guy, sister sister, and full house. he was born to act!
