I saw this film once, in 1974. Here in Chicago, it was billed as Steve Poster's Another Saturday Night, and played as the short subject before the x-rated sci-fi spoof, Flesh Gordon, during that film's first release. ASN is first rate. It's a silent, (no dialog), in color, with music soundtrack. I'd guess around 12 to 15 minutes long. Story, a young woman goes to a Rush St. singles bar. Guys hit on her, but, she's just not into it. She leaves through a rear entrance and is confronted in an alley by, The Sheik. Yes, an actor dressed as a sheik. He grabs her in his arms, jumps on his horse, and rides through the sands of the Lake Michigan beaches with the Drake Hotel in the background. They arrive at his tent, with burning torches and guards in front of it. Apparently she has fainted due to the stress, and awakens dressed as a harem girl. He enters and she demands to know what is going on. As I said before, it's silent, with inter-titles and appropriately melodramatic score. They argue, fight, hug, kiss, go to bed, sleep. In the morning, he returns her to her near north-side neighborhood, galloping on his horse through the sands TOWARDS the Drake hotel. He lowers her to the street, they kiss and he rides away. The closing credits roll as she slowly walks away to the song, Another Saturday Night, but, NOT the Sam Cooke song. I don't recall the lyrics of this version. Hey, it was 33 years ago. I hope this is made available on DVD. Possibly as part of a collection of shorts.
