Ho-hum compilation of downbeat gay short subjects
lor_14 April 2015
RUGGED MEN preserves a set of vintage gay-themed short films, of the rough variety. They were shot MOS, with some dialog dubbed in but no articulation.

Opening vignette is titled "Fright", dealing with police brutality as seen from an angle Al Sharpton never envisioned. These cops deal in sexual torture and I found the documentation of abuse merely boring. Obviously, if you're a perv (what sexploitation producers like Harry Novak and Dave Friedman affectionately called their patrons) or just kinky maybe watching guys get oiled up with axle grease and treated to rape by billy club is a turn-on. This sex is mechanical and unemotional.

"Nightmare" is a second segment promising more downbeat content. Torture is the theme once more, with a guy's cock getting tied up plus nipple clamps, dildo and an enema bag making the scene. At least the title is truthful.

Desultory film ends with a lengthy (over 40 minutes) epic named "Birthday". Sure enough it's a human present. It's far from romantic but has plenty of sex and a Golden Shower. The heartlessness of these programs is striking - with the ending consisting of the performer whose job it is to service guys like this getting a handshake at the door when done. Definitely a manly man's ending. I wonder if the cable guy is treated this way.
