Occupies the difficult middle-ground between Friends, Trainspotting and Baynham's Pot Noodle adverts, but does so in a very funny way.

"The Junkies" deals with a difficult, and fundamentally un-funny, subject (drug abuse) surprisingly well. The show's astonishingly low budget (£3,500) does occasionally show through, but, as films like "The Phantom Menace" (in which Peter Serafinowicz, who plays "Big Al" in "The Junkies", provides the voice of Darth Maul) show, budget does not equal quality - there are no special effects or light-sabres, but there is a very sharp script and some great acting. Unfortunately, as the show has never been broadcast on television and is not available on video, the only way to watch it is to download the video in QuickTime format, which is quite irritating (at least, I find it so), but ultimately worth it.
