Blue Diary is an unconventional 16mm short about a few melancholy days in the life of a San Francisco dyke pining over her one-night stand with a straight girl. Shot in the streets of San Francisco, this six minute color film has no people in it -- just voice-over, quiet urban landscapes, and ambient sound. Although the visual style is a bit more challenging than most narrative shorts, the film's subject matter makes the film accessible and entertaining to a broad audience. Blue Diary is a film that speaks directly to lesbian audiences. And, as a unique, well-crafted narrative Blue Diary speaks to all audiences.
