THE OLD LADY'S CAMPING TRIP is an animated short sponsored by The National Film Board of Canada. It's a public service-type film intended to protect us from ourselves.
This is a very preachy cartoon--the sort of thing they show to young kids to indoctrinate them about fire safety. And, for this instance, it isn't bad. Now I do understand that this is important, but frankly the film makes me almost want to let the kids burn than subject them to this sort of film! It's so gosh-darn preachy and obvious--the sort of thing only very, very young kids might enjoy. As for adults, it's quite the chore though the film tries occasionally to be funny, but there's only so much you can do with the topic. Imagine it as a Schoolhouse Rock style film As far as the artwork goes, it's pretty good but that's about all.
