Cute little urban slice of life cut to the bone by two haunting and exquisite panoramas of the World Trade Center dominated skyline

Trivial if likable little compendium of life in a NYC apartment building during a heatwave is full of cute sitcom like detail....and nice performances....all of which are dominated by opening and closing studies of the skyline....first showing the Trade Center by day (bathed in sunlight as it was on that last morning)....and then wrapping up with an even more heartbreaking and lovely shot of the Towers sparkling with light and life as nightfalls.... What was a tidy trifle in 1998 deserves to be rediscovered now as a bittersweet reminder of what life was like a mere 5 years ago....before the world changed forever. The deft directorial touches...nicely ditsy slapstick, and sweet romantic tone are all still there....but they resonate now with a lost innocence which could never be imagined 3 years before the Towers came down.
