Film based upon Steen Steensen Blicher's novel "Hosekræmmeren" from 1829

The best about this movie is the cast. This is also the only cool thing. It's not the performances as much as the actors who now are icons in the danish entertainment industry..

The story is set in the far west of Jutland, Denmark, and is based upon a classic danish novel by Steen Steensen Blicher. It depicts how a young woman goes mental after she can't get the one she loves.

But the film is just set in such a sloooow rate! :( In a small part you can see Laus Høybye from the danish film "Krummerne" and also later famous danish actor Trine Dyrholm as a teenager... :)

All in all, the written story is a classic in danish literature... and i liked it a lot more then the film i must admit.
